Hitchhiking without urban destination
Narrative voice in headphones, Photographs, slides, video, notes, map and objects. ENES Hitchiking without urban destination tells the story of a road trip taken through Europe in 2002. A voice narrative installation in four languages alternates with photographs, train tickets, slides, journals, notes, postcards, maps and an amulet. The memories of the artist are like surface roots traveling carefree in all directions, adapting to circumstances that the hazard traces their path. Again and again, we hear a litany, the echo of the artist’s memories distended in 5 soundscapes, alternating with the strong anecdotal load of photographs, postcards, and even a travel amulet, operating all together as dendrites where his memory flows. Next to him, we have a diffuse and dissected journey experience, a metaphor of continuous personal-social movement where true and false memories circulate, legitimized in this multidisciplinary proposal. Overlapping frequencies and small stories in which Marco interprets the role of the exiled, the tourist and the curious cosmopolitan. V 13:26 The last train to the wrong way and rewind to a possible end Viaje a Dedo Sin Destino Urbano es un recorrido por la intrincada urdimbre que conforma la memoria del viaje que emprende Marco Montiel-Soto en el año 2002. Una brillante propuesta que nos conduce por los recuerdos del artista como raíces superficiales que avanzan despreocupadas viajando en todas direcciones, adaptándose a circunstancias que el azar traza a su paso. Una y otra vez escuchamos como una letanía, el eco de sus recuerdos distendidos en 5 paisajes sonoros, alternando con la densa carga anecdótica de fotografías, postales e incluso un amuleto de viaje, que operan como dendritas por las que fluye su recuerdo. Junto a él experimentamos una travesía difusa y diseccionada, metáfora del móvil continuo personal-social por donde circulan verdaderos y falsos recuerdos legitimados en esta propuesta multidisciplinar. Frecuencias superpuestas y pequeños relatos en los que Marco interpreta el rol del exiliado, el turista y el curioso urbano.
